NEW JERSEY COMMERCIAL PESTICIDE LICENSING

 COMMERCIAL PESTICIDE APPLICATORS LICENSE

This license is for individuals seeking licensure in a specific category and requires certification by passing the appropriate exam in that category

Requirements

  • Completion of a State Approved Basic Training Course is mandatory before getting a license
  • Completion of 40 hours of on-the-job training under supervision of a certified applicator is mandatory prior to testing (The applicant must be working with/for a certified applicator)

 COMMERCIAL PESTICIDE OPERATOR'S LICENSE

An operator must be working for a pesticide business to earn this license. An operator must work under the supervision of an applicator.

Requirements

  • An operator must be working for a pesticide business and under the supervision of an applicator
  •  Licensing is required but not certification
  •  Completion of a State Approved Basic Training Course is mandatory prior to getting a license
A Basic Training certificate is provided upon course completion. Applications for licenses and tests are available at class.


 PRIVATE PESTICIDE APPLICATORS LICENSE

This license is for those persons applying pesticides to their own property producing agricultural commodities for sale.  The License requires certification by passing the State Exam.  This person would contact their County Rutgers County Cooperate Extension Service to purchase a manual for the category PP2.  They would then register for a PP2 exam with the State PCP (http://www.pcpnj.org)
